Cookie Policy
Effective October 23, 2026.
This Cookie Policy explains how Kameron Tanseli ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on explint.com and in the ExpLint workspace (together, the "Service").
What cookies are
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They serve purposes like keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and helping us understand how a site is used. Similar technologies include browser web storage (such as localStorage), which keeps data in your browser rather than sending it with every request.
What we use
The Service uses only what it needs to run:
| Type | What it does | Who serves it | How to control it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to your workspace and remembers your display theme (light or dark). | ExpLint and Appwrite, our account provider | Your browser settings |
| Analytics | Counts page views and visits so we can see which pages are used, covering the page address, the page that referred you, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location. | Umami Software, Inc., through Umami Cloud | Your browser settings or a content blocker |
We use no advertising cookies, and the Umami tracker sets no cookies at all, because it works from the page address and browser details that each page load sends to Umami Cloud. The cookies and storage the Service itself sets stay strictly necessary for the Service to work, so we do not ask for cookie consent and show no consent banner.
Browser web storage
Your sign-in session and theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies. Local storage persists until you clear it, and your browser can clear it for you. A browser where an excluded account has signed in also carries a umami.disabled flag in local storage, and the tracker sends nothing from that browser while the flag stays in place.
Third-party services
The tracker reaches your browser from our own domain and sends the analytics data in the table above back through that domain to Umami Cloud, and Umami handles that data under its own privacy policy and data processing terms. When you buy credits you are sent to Polar's checkout, and when specs are linted they are processed by our AI model provider, OpenRouter. Those services set and read their own cookies and storage under their own policies, which we do not control.
Your choices
- Browser settings: most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies and site storage. Blocking all storage may sign you out and stop the workspace from working.
- Clearing storage: clearing site data for explint.com signs you out and resets your theme.
- Analytics: a content blocker or a browser setting that blocks the Umami tracker stops the visit data above from being sent, and the rest of the Service keeps working while the tracker is blocked.
Changes
Information about the storage we use may be updated from time to time, so check back on a regular basis for any changes. The date at the top of this page shows the last revision.
